The people who built this
Who is behind Vuwopu Gehawu? The program was developed by a small team of educators and working artists based in the Philadelphia area who share a specific frustration: too many people who want to make art never start because they believe they are not talented enough.
The curriculum was built over an extended period of working directly with adult beginners, observing where they get stuck, and designing instruction that addresses those specific friction points. Every module reflects something we learned from watching real students engage with watercolor for the first time.
We are not a large organization. We are a small team who cares about making creative practice accessible to anyone who wants it, regardless of geography, prior experience, or formal training.
